Ok. I seriously respect a man with a beard. Having a well groomed beard says a lot about a mans ability to commit. Grooming, trimming, waxing, repeat?! That takes some serious time, effort and mirror love. And some serious style. Facial hair is as masculine as it gets… and lord knows I like a man who can rock masculinity.

Head over to www.electricblonde.com this morning to check out the snazzy new website. Electric Blonde is my wedding and special event band, and a little bit my baby. I sing lead in the band and it’s always a blast on stage playing with some of my favourite people ever. Plus, I force the guys to wear bow ties… which they rock.

This upcoming week, we are styling the new bridal look book for Live Beautiful Jewelry. All of the pieces are crafted from eco-conscious materials, be it ethically mined gems, recycled metals, or vintage chains and brooches. I recently used some pieces from this line for a different shoot, and let me tell you, I am so excited about the line and their unique, earthy vibe. The colour board below is the inspiration for the whimsical, romantic look we are planning for the shoot. Picture sweet, soft colour, rolling hills, warm light and beautiful girls. Sounds like a dreamy afternoon to me!

And just to tease you a little, here is a taste of one of the pieces from the line. Its a stunning statement necklace made from blush vintage cultured pearls, a mustard toned brooch and reclaimed chain.

I’m in Costa Rica right now and let me tell you, this country is nothing short of inspiring! These bright fiesta colours pop up everywhere from fresh mangos literally falling on you from a tree, to the aqua blue colour of the surf, to hibiscus flowers growing wildly. Whip up some fish tacos and a pitcher of your favourite sangria- but in the true Costa Rican way, make it all organic and eat by candlelight. Pictures of the trip to come soon!
